Manager to Direct Report Review Template
Managers can spend, on average, 17 hours preparing each employee’s review! We made it easy with this template.
Tip: When managers are reviewing their direct reports, the feedback should be objective, constructive, and honest. Rather than using generalized sentences making it hard for direct reports to take anything tangible away from the review, we recommend using specific examples of the employee's behavior so they can take improve, correct, or repeat their actions.
Self Review Template
While some employee may dread reflecting on their own performance, self reviews are an integral part of performance evaluations and are an excellent way for employees to reflect on their performance.
Tip: Because self reviews are a great opportunity for your employees to reflect on their performance, make sure the questions are meaningful! You want the questions to act as a motivator to set new goals for the upcoming quarter after reflecting on your performance as a whole.
Upward Review Template
Managers are used to delivering performance reviews to their direct reports, but many organizations underestimate how crucial upward reviews are during performance evaluations. One study found that 57% of employees have left a job because of their manager! Managers play a critical role in hiring, training, developing, motivating, and engaging employees. But managers need feedback, especially formal performance reviews! Employees deserve the opportunity to comment on management styles and touch on the strengths and weaknesses that have direct effect on their performance.
Tip: Educate your employees (including your managers) on how to give and receive feedback.
